Refreshed for the Holidays: Aesthetic Treatments That Need Lead Time

October 21, 2026•5 min read

The holiday calendar fills quickly. By the second week of December, parties, travel and family photos are on the schedule, and anything that needs weeks of lead time has already run out of room. Some aesthetic treatments work on a timeline that cannot be shortened, so the planning has to start in October.

Morpheus8 is a good example. It is a series of three sessions about six weeks apart, which adds up to twelve weeks from the first visit to the last. Wait until mid-November to begin and the series slides well past the new year.

This guide covers what to book now, what to ask at your consultation, and how to pace treatments around the holidays. It also includes a short section on ApexRF for men, since that plan runs on a similar clock.

Why some treatments need a runway

Morpheus8 pairs microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate the skin's natural healing response. That response prompts the body to produce more collagen and elastin, the proteins behind firm, supple skin. Collagen builds gradually, so the face and neck are treated as a series of three sessions instead of a single visit. Each session typically takes less than an hour, and Novus describes the treatment as non-invasive with no downtime. The constraint is the calendar. Booking early also lets your practitioner space the sessions evenly rather than squeezing them together to hit a date.

Morpheus8 on a holiday calendar

Three sessions about six weeks apart add up to twelve weeks from the first visit to the last. Start the week of October 26 and your second session lands around December 7, with the third around January 18. Start the week of November 9 and the dates move to roughly December 21 and February 1. The earlier start puts two sessions before the new year, which is why October is the month to book.

Morpheus8 works on skin texture and firmness. The lines that appear when you move your face, between the brows, across the forehead and at the corners of the eyes, respond to neuromodulators instead, and the two treatments can be planned together. Novus says Morpheus8 can be used on all skin types and tones. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or over active skin infections or open wounds.

ApexRF for men who want to plan ahead

ApexRF is a radiofrequency platform from InMode that Novus offers for men's sexual wellness. It uses focused radiofrequency energy to support blood flow and tissue health, with no needles and no downtime. A typical plan is six sessions of about 15 minutes each. Many patients notice changes within weeks, and the Novus team says improvements can continue for up to three months as collagen reorganizes. Because that window runs a full quarter, a start this month gives it time to run its course. Results vary by person, and a consultation comes first.

What to bring to your consultation

Bring your event dates, because the schedule works backward from them. Ask how many sessions you will need, how far apart they should be, and what the plan looks like if a date has to move. The FDA suggests asking whether a new needle cartridge is used for each patient and for each session, and it recommends choosing a licensed provider with training and experience in the device. Tell your provider about blood thinners, clotting or bleeding disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo or autoimmune disease, since the FDA lists these as conditions to discuss before treatment. The FDA's consumer guidance on microneedling devices covers the full list. The American Academy of Dermatology also explains how microneedling triggers the body's collagen response.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should I book Morpheus8 before the holidays?

Book this month if you can. A series of three sessions about six weeks apart takes twelve weeks from start to finish. A start the week of October 26 puts the first two sessions before the new year and the third in mid-January. Your consultation sets the exact dates around your own events.

Is there downtime after treatment?

Novus lists no downtime for Morpheus8 or ApexRF. The FDA notes that common reactions to microneedling include redness, bleeding, bruising, tightness, itching and peeling, which typically go away on their own within a few days or weeks. Reactions vary from person to person, so ask your provider what to expect before you schedule a session close to a big event. Your consultation is the place to set those expectations for your skin.

Who should not have Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is also not recommended over active skin infections or open wounds. It does not replace a surgical facelift and will not remove every sign of aging. A consultation confirms whether it fits your skin and your goals.

Will everyone get the same results?

Results vary from person to person. Morpheus8 is used to improve the look of fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture and acne scarring, and the amount of change depends on your skin and how many sessions you complete. ApexRF results also vary, with some patients noticing changes within weeks and others over a few months. Your provider can tell you what is realistic for you before you commit to a plan.
